What Gear Should I Take onto the Endless Wall Trail in New River Gorge National Park?
This is a short trail but you should still pack a few things. We like to hike with the Teton sports hydration day pack. But don’t use the water bladder. Just take water bottles. But just as important, pack a first aid kit. You never know when a trip or stumble will require a band aid or other treatment. But, speaking of stumbling consider take trekking poles on this hike, too. We also like to pack snacks and treats like gummy worms to motivate kids and adults alike. Is Endless Wall Trail in New River Gorge National Parkl Dog-Friendly?
Yes, dogs are welcome on the Endless Wall Trail as long as they are kept on a 6’ leash. The trail is a great place for dogs to explore, with plenty of smells, sights, and sounds to keep them engaged. But, it’s important to keep a firm grip on the leash, especially if your dog tends to pull or explore energetically due to the cliffs along the trail. The varied terrain is generally dog-friendly, though some sections with rocks or roots may require extra care for older dogs.
Is Endless Wall Trail in New River Gorge National Park Open Year-Round?
The Endless Wall Trail is open year-round, providing a different hiking experience with each season. In the spring and summer, the trail is lush and green, with wildflowers dotting the landscape and the forest canopy providing shade. In fall, the trail becomes a prime spot for leaf-peeping, as the forest explodes into vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows. Where is Endless Wall Trail in New River Gorge National Park located?
The endless wall trailhead is a 4 minute drive south of the canyon rim visitor center. Take Lansing Edmond road south. You can access the trail from two main trailheads. The Fern Creek trailhead is the first parking lot the Nuttall trailhead is just a bit further south. both of which are just a short drive from the park’s Canyon Rim Visitor. With this hike we walked the road from one trailhead to the other to get from the end of our hike back to our vehicle.
